I have a growing collection of works focusing on the transformation of pain into beauty as a means of healing. The name of the collection is from the first piece I started (still unfinished), a straitjacket. When finished, it will be completely covered in black glass beading, hand-stitched in a freestyle pattern inspired by a piece of victorian mourning jewelry gifted to me by my sister.

The piece came about as a way of channeling grief over my mother's suicide in 2009 and my own battles with mental health. It continues to grow and evolve as I do. Images and writings below.
